Marshmallow Essential is our budget motor cover option, giving you essential car cover, at a lower price. To provide this cheaper cover, Marshmallow Essential does not include some of the extras that you can get with the Marshmallow Original or Plus policy.
So what does Essential include?
All plans are fully comprehensive. This includes Third Party liability, which is the minimum legally required to drive on UK roads and covers you if you're held responsible for damages to someone else's car or physical injury. They also protect you against theft, accidents, and even your car catching fire.
And what does it not include?
The main differences with what isn't covered under the Essential plan are that you do not have windscreen repair or replacement covered, and this is not something you would be able to add as an optional extra.
In the event of making a claim, you would also not have personal baggage cover, no built in entertainment cover, and no back-up travel after an accident 👍
Unfortunately though, you will not be covered to drive other vehicles under the Essential or Original plan. Marshmallow Plus allows policyholders to drive other cars occasionally.
